⚖️AI for Law Firms

More billable hours. Less admin work.

Vancouver law firms face growing pressure on two fronts: clients expect faster turnaround and more transparent pricing, while associates and partners spend an increasing proportion of their time on administrative work that doesn't require legal judgment. AI addresses both problems — automating document-intensive tasks while keeping lawyers focused on the work that requires their expertise and commands premium rates.

What We Build

AI across the law firm workflow

Contract Review & Analysis

AI that reads contracts, extracts key clauses (limitation of liability, IP ownership, termination rights, payment terms), flags non-standard language, and compares against your standard precedents — in minutes rather than hours. Lawyers review the AI's analysis and focus their attention where human judgment is required.

What you need to know about AI compliance for BC law firms

Law firms in British Columbia are subject to the Law Society of BC's professional obligations regarding competence, confidentiality, and supervision. AI use in legal practice implicates all three.

Competence obligation: Lawyers must understand the tools they use in their practice. Using AI for legal work without understanding its limitations — including hallucination risk, training data cutoffs, and the absence of Canadian-specific legal knowledge in general-purpose models — creates professional risk. We build AI systems for law firms that are appropriately scoped, with transparent limitations and human review checkpoints.

Confidentiality: Client information cannot be sent to AI services whose terms permit training on submitted data. We configure AI systems for law firms using enterprise API access (which does not train on client data) or self-hosted models, and clearly document data handling for each system.

Supervision: AI-generated work product must be reviewed by a lawyer before use. Our systems are designed to surface AI outputs for legal review, not to bypass it — with clear audit trails showing what the AI generated and what the lawyer verified.

We have designed AI implementations for BC law firms that satisfy Law Society guidance while delivering substantial efficiency gains.
